Mixed or matched memory RAM?

Hi, i have some old PC's and have mixed memory on it like 512+128mb and 1gig+512mb.
How it's recommended ? Or they MUST be equal ones?

Will 512+512 overforce 1gig+128mb ?

Do you recommmend use just equal RAM's ?
 
Knowing a bit about your system or proposed system would help. In general, I would not suggest mixing a 1gb DIMM and a 128mb DIMM on ANY MOBO. You would be mixing vastly diffferent IC densities and most likely the 128mb DIMM would be very old too.
