I enjoyed watching Human Weapon on the History Channel and have started to watch some MMA matches. Here and there, nothing worth noting. But I'd like to have a primer guide as to which one to watch on TV and anything else that you would recommend.

UFC normally has one PPV per month. They currently have a show called The Ultimate Fighter which airs on SpikeTV on Wednesdays.

UFC is pretty much the mainstay of MMA. Pride was a competing show but they went out of business and the UFC ended up buying Pride.

There is also EliteXC which is normally shown on Showtime.

Often times on the VS network you will find a few MMA shows as well.

Hang around on SpikeTV and you'll see many past matches replayed. They have UFC Unleashed and some Friday night Fight thing now. They are all free. Also, once in a while they have "Ultimate Fight Night" on SpikeTV which are "live" events (tape delayed on the West Coast). Or check out youtube and look for guys like Fedor, CroCop, Couture, Liddel, Shogun, Wanderlei Silva, Rampage, Sakuraba, BJ Penn, St.Pierre to name a few.

Ya, and as Nocturnal said, there are PPV every month or so. They cost $40 which you may or may not want to do initially. We always order them though. You can find a lot of replays and free stuff on SpikeTV now.

Youtube/Google Video is your friend as well as sherdog.com. I personally liked Pride better than UFC, but they're semi defunct now.

you could go to sherdog.com to look at fighters/fight stats. You could try their forums but I've heard some conflicting comments on whether they are informative or not but I don't go there.

The forums at subfighter are better I think.

Whats wrong with Sherdog? Don't you want to read 12455 posts saying " Pride > UFC" or the ubiquitous "Screw Dana!" threads? If you want info go to subfighter or mma underground. MMAU also has a lot of fighters actually posting on their site too.

I am not too sure, but since Zuffa(owners of UFC) bought Pride FC, do they still air Pride shows on Fox Sports Net?

Also on VS. they have Extreme Cagefighting, which is the little sister of the UFC and if you have Dish network HD, they have a bunch fights on on Friday nights.

I was actually fortunate enough to watch this sport grow. I went to four early UFC's (forget which ones) and its great to see where this is heading.

Peace
