mix and matching brands with wireless networks ok?

I was wondering if everyone uses different brands for their routers/APs with the type of wireless network cards, etc? Does keeping the brands the same help or does it make no difference? thanks.

Regular 802.11b you can mix.

802.11b+ you have to stick with the same brand.

Regular 802.11g you can mix, but there is some risk (i.e. units for few months ago might have compatibility issues).

802.11g Super stick with the same brand.
