hi, i have the NEC/Mitsubishi PRO 930SB 19" CRT monitor which i got yesterday..

Its nice and all, but at the top of screen (say when on desktop), the icons are a bit blurry..

I was fiddling around with the horizontal convergance, and V convergance, which affect the blurriness (?) of the picture greatly, and im wondering what the optimal settings for these are..

also are there any other settings on the monitor to set up for a clearer picture :)

im running 1600x1200 85hz..

Thanks, and sorry for the badly written post :)

I have a feeling it really varies from monitor to monitor....and also it'll probably be affected by your environment (i.e., nearby magnetic/electrical fields and such). For what it's worth, I had the 2141SB (the 22" version of the one you have), and I went through two monitors trying to get it to be clear, have good convergence and geometry, etc. I never could get it to how I wanted it (on two different video cards), so I ended up returning it. :(

I'm not sure if it's just because the higher resolutions and refresh rates of the 22" one are really bumping against the limits of the analog signal or what, but I wasn't really able to "fix" it...

Edit: Have you installed the NaviSet software? That'll help you a lot with the adjustments.

Download Navi Set and the right drivers from NEC/Mitsu's website. BTW- I have two 930's SB's and an IBM P72 17" and they ALL do this. I consider it normal basically

I have the same monitor. Black on grey text at the bottom and top center blurs a bit at some resolutions. Also, the horizontal linearity is slightly askew. Text is slightly tighter on the left than the right. I've messed with it for hours in powerstrip, changing the front porch, etc. Eventually I found settings that I am cool with.

My old 17" CRT was even worse, so it's not that big of a deal to me. Not enough for me to chance a return. The gaming on this monitor is just insane, and I can't tell it has any problems then, so that's all that matters.
