A brand new, not refurbished, Mitsumi Cd-r drive, internal IDE. Not many people know about Mitsumi, but they're excellent drives and work with EVERYTHING, including CloneCD. Check out www.cdmediaworld.com for reviews of this model (4804).

I have an external model, the 4802TU USB, and it's fantastic. Never had a problem with it, and it runs everything nice.

Look into it guys

DONT BUY THIS CDRW IF IT DOESN'T COME IN RETAIL BOX. I HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH OEM CDRW BECAUSE MOST OF THEM ARE REFURBISHED AND THEY GO AS OEM .

It says bare drive only , I think that is like OEM, because you get no software with it. E-bay has retail box ones with adaptec and other software selling around $120. so proceed with caution.
If you already have some software for copying its probably a good deal for you..

I would stay away from Mitsumi. All the new computer at my school have Mitsumi CD-ROMs and they are HORRIBLE. NONE of them work properly. They have a horrible time seeking. Mitsumis older drives were acceptable but their newer drives are horrible.

Actually, Mitsumi CDRW's are rather good. One of the few that will do bit-for-bit recording I hear. *I* personally prefer Teac SCSI, but that's my preference. (I have a Teac 8x24) I wouldn't buy one OEM or refurbed though. I'm seeing the retail box 4x4x24's for ~$139.00.

As far as Mitsumi CD-ROM drives go, they aren't pretty, fast, or special, but they have an extrememly low RMA rate.

IMHO, of course. ;)

Here is another vote for Mitsumi. I have the 4802T and its works great. Clonecd, nero, Easy CD all work well with the mitsumi cdrw. I would reccomend it to anyone who is looking for a cheap drive

I like this company, had great service and good luck.

Personally, I would not buy anything but plextor or yamaha, and I have always bought refurb drives...as long as they are FACTORY refurbs, you are ok, espeically yamaha as they go thru more strident testing then their new drives.

First of all, for everyone saying "stay away from Mitsumi," Mitsumi makes a TON of the CD-ROM drives for desktop PCs, and there's a good chance the PC you're on right now has a Mitsumi CD-ROM. They are an OEM for a number of name brands.

Second of all... well, I have no second of all. FOr the person who posted "my school only uses Mitsumi drives and they all don't work," you're school is run by idiots, and they should return the defective stuff immediately. I assure you that if every Mitsumi drive really behaved that way, the compayn wouldn't be in business.

ANother vote for Mitsumi CDRWs. Every one I buy for myself and others is a Mitsumi. They are the most reliable burners I have ever used. --And for you smart-asses, yes, I have used a Plextor. It is stable, and great. --But no more so than my Mitsumis. Haven't had a problem yet with 4 mitsumi burners in 3 years.

I had a Mitsumi 4802 back before upgrading to my Plextor 8/4/32. The Mitsumi served me well for quite some time - no complaints here!

I don't have a Mitsumi CD-RW, but I do have a Mitsumi CD-R. I had it for about 2 years now and never had a problem with it. I bought it at compgeeks and it's a baredrive. But I only had about 2 coasters in the past two years and it's only because I did somthing silly on the computer while burning a CD. So, another vote for Mitsumi products.
