Mitsumi CD-R Problem in NERO

I just bought a mitsumi 54x48x54 drive and can't get it to interface with nero. The nero cd speed and drive speed programs it came with see it and recognize it as a cd-rw drive, but the actual nero bvurning rom will not let me choose it as a recorder. The only thing it displays in the choose recorder menu is a virtual recorder, which just burns an image to the hdd. Right now, I'm having to use discjuggler to convert the image to a cd.
 
One thing I've noticed is my InCD logo in my systray has a yellow exclamation point over it that I can't get rid of. I've already tried going to nero's site for an update, but every one of their free updates is a dead link
 
That's the way Nero acts when the drive is unsupported. Maybe the update links will be fixed soon...
 
if your version of nero was bundled with your burner then you could try updating to the latest version of nero if your version is not 5.5.10.42!
if nero was bundled with a previous burner then you'll only be able to use that version of nero with that make of burner
that being said, nero 6 is out & I can't see the above version on the nero website for d/load.

Did the copy of nero which came with your drive have a serial number which you had to enter when installing? The serial number determines which drives it will work with. If you mis-typed the serial number then you could have unintentionally assigned it to a different brand of drive.
 
THe installation did not ask for a serial number. The disc I have is labelled as nero5, but beyond that, i'm not sure what exact version I have.

None of those "download It" ftp buttons work. When I click on them, I get "page cannot be displayed".
 
I just shut down both of the above mentioned programs and tried both links supplied in this forum. both say "page cannot be displayed".
 
Have you tried it tonight. I was getting the page not found this morning but now it works. You might also try right clicking "download it" and "saving target as" rather than left clicking the "download it" link.
 
I finally got it to work, but that cd came bundled with a drive i bought a few months ago, and won't work with the drive i have now. guess i'll have to seek out another option. thanks for the help
