Heya,
Recently the components of my new PC have arrived (with the exception of the graphics card...) and I've built my system. After a couple of failures (it was the motherboard shorting to the case xD), everything's going very well. I've installed Windows XP SP2 (I had a spare graphics card, but it doesn't really fit properly in the case; it sticks out where the screw is supposed to be. Yet I used it, since it's the only one I had available) and configured pretty much everything.
But now I've noticed that there's just one very small horizontal "black" line, somewhere between the top and the middle of the screen. Consulting the manual on the CD, I saw the following:
Although I'm sorta relieved it's not really a defect, I'd like to be certain about this. It's a very vague horizontal line, not exactly noticable, except on light colours, such as light blue (XP logon screen), white, etc.

Thin horizontal lines appear on your screen
Thin horizontal lines are normal for an aperture grille CRT and are not a malfunction. These are shadows from the damper wires used to stabilize the aperture grille and are most noticeable when the screen's background is light (usually white).
