Ok, people. We have here a battle of the black, flat screen, 19 inch monitors, about the same price, both from companies who are related.

Which do you think is the better overall monitor? I'm looking to do about half word processing, surfing, emails etc. and half gaming and watching movies. Both are important to me, so I'm trying to avoid any blurry text issues.

There are very limited reviews of the Diamond Pro, somewhat more for the NEC one, all of the comments seem pretty positive, although as I said, there is more info about the NEC model.

I was actually going to buy the NEC one from dell.com Friday morning, but between Thurs night and yesterday it disappeared from their product listings, don't know if they sold out or stopped selling it or what. But since I can't get either for 288 with free shipping anymore, I'm going to have to spend a bit more anyway, so was wondering if I should get the Diamond Pro instead (308 with 3 day fedex at newegg or 5 day ground for 299 at Page Computers, but I'm not sure about this retailer).

Any thoughts?

They are the EXACT same monitor. EXACTLY THE SAME.

Only difference is price and what name is badged.

Get the NEC if you wan't to save a few dollars.

Edit.. Forgot to tell you, you can go to here to get the 912.

Ok, I had a hunch they were the same monitor, although I hadn't heard anyone come right out and say that yet, and also a few places sell the Diamond Pro packaged with some sort of software utility for 50 dollars more.

But as I said, you can't really save any money buying the NEC at the moment. Dell was selling it for 288 with free ground shipping, but no longer. They are still selling the Diamond Pro, but it's more than 30 dollars more there.

However, the cheapest you can get the NEC one right now is at Ubid.com for 307 with shipping. That Dartek place is about the same with shipping added on. Dell was really the only place to be selling it for much cheaper than the Diamond Pro. So I'll probably just get the Diamond at Page Computers for just under 300, shipping included:

By the way, this place is selling the Diamond pro refurbished for 200 dollars, without shipping! I'm not going to take the chance myself without knowing exactly what condition it's in, but you don't see too many refurbs being sold on the net for a relatively recent model like this:
