Got my parents the 60" on the last Dell sale. PQ is outstanding. One of the best TV's I have ever seen.

I just saw it at Fry's today and decided I needed it. Too bad I don't have the cash, but it looks BEAUTiFUL.

It's ok, but remember with RPTVs you're going to have a lot of overscan- I've had two so far and one had as much as 20% of the picture missing due to overscan (which isn't adjustable on most RPTVs).

That's one of the reasons I prefer LCD/Plasmas even though they cost a bit more.

I think if u get into the service menu, u can easily adjust that. I had several Toshiba RPTVs that I got it fixed. Don't know about these newer Mits if that's possible though.

you know at some point the size of the tv wont even allow you to get it in the damn door.

Where and how do you throw away TV this big when it dies?
Simple. You just call me and I graciously drive over and haul it away for you. Then I fix it in my garage and upgrade my now (apparently) small 50" LED DLP television. :p

Or you call your local church and they will gladly take a working 92' TV....stress on "working".....Did that with my Toshiba 65". It was 8 years old but was working pretty good. Didn't want to wait till it died and I would have to pay to throw it away.

What is overscan problem with Mits DLP TV?
Which TVs did you have?

i have the 65 right now, and it does overscan on native 1080p pc input, but it's pretty easy to overcome...

i guess i'm going to get one of these for myself...

the dlp chip on my 4 year old 65 is starting to display the northern constellations on the screen, and it's at least $300 to replace just the dlp chip or $450 for the whole light engine... i've never replaced the bulb, so it's due, too...

looking around on the web mitsu is occasionally doing some deals with people having 'premature' dlp chip failure, but they want a repair tech's report before they'll even talk... i'll just put the cash towards a new tv, methinks...

these tv's are pretty well regarded over there... they like this model better than the more expensive 82838... you just can't beat the performance for the price...

I own a 73837 since 2/2010 and loving every minute of it.
It's my main HT display as well as my 3d gaming monitor.

Yeah, My Mom and Dad have a Mitsu DLP (57" I think) and Since they had it, the damn thing had horrible blue and yellow splotches... and to top it off, my Dad didn't have HD service on their cable, so he ran all his SD channels to fit the screen. After I got my 58" Plasma, he finally decided what I was telling him was right - and called on his extended warranty. The whole light engine needed to be replaced ($600+ part), but Mitsubishi apparently was replacing them for next to nothing cost to the warranty repair shops. He also upgraded his cable.

Now it looks great.

Still, after getting the plasma, there's no way I'd go back to an RPTV (my last TV was a 720p CRT RPTV). My new plasma hanging on the wall and looks like a damn painting in motion at times - and is viewable from EVERY angle. I also enjoy having the extra 2~3ft of space reclaimed in our living room.

DLPs are great for an inexpensive, big screen, but keep in mind you'll need floor space (you won't be hanging it on the wall without some crazy homemade bracketing), and you'll be replacing bulbs... and you might have light engine problems. Most people I know only keep their DLPs for a few years, so if the investment is worth it for that period of time, go for it.

If you intend on using it with your PC often, a LCD based display is a much better choice (I know from experience). I picked up a Sharp Aquos 60" LCD HDTV on sale from BB for $1099 and am loving it. Much better than my last two DLPs in every way.

If all you want is size for a low price, then the Mitsubishi DLPs are for you.
