She wanted him to sign it... "I pity the fool that doesn't listen to Mrs. name!"

True story.

Regardless, Best Buy does have to get his permission to use his likeness in any way, shape, or form.
And I think Mr. T has a LOT to lose as far as his image is concerned.

A similar controversy sprang up about some commercials a few years back where long-dead stars were being used to pitch stuff (like a digitally altered Fred Astaire dancing with a broom/vacuum/something, instead of Ginger Rogers).

So where's Sly and his lawsuit that Best Buy aluded to him becoming a middle aged, balding, out-of-shape Best Buy salesman?

As for Mr. T's image, I think less of it now but not because of the spot. The spot was clearly altered from the original and any reasonable person recognizes that it's an ad above all else. If Mr. T's afraid people are going to think less of him because of that, maybe he should reconsider the phone commercials he personally signed to make.
