Hi. I've been having some problems with my computer being slow, so I mistakenly disabled the Apple iPod driver (it was under "disk drives" since it is recognized as a removable drive). Now when I connect it (when it should usually mount the iPod as a drive) nothing happens. The dock is still getting power from the firewire (the iPod can charge).

In device manager, I can't find the device so I couldn't enable it again. I have tried to "add new hardware," but it cannot be found by Win XP. Reinstallation of the drivers/iTunes from the CD that came with it also does not fix this.

Thank you in advance,

Have you run an app such as Driver Cleaner first? That, and then re-installing/hooking up the iPod again should fix it. The other thing you could check is right-click any drive, properties>hardware tab, and see if its listed, although usually this requires it to be visible in device manager.
