Steve West, who promotes anti-Semitic conspiracy theories on a radio show he hosts, defeated three other candidates in the bid for a seat representing Clay County. He won with 49.5 percent of the vote; the second-place finisher had 24.4 percent.

“Looking back in history, unfortunately, Hitler was right about what was taking place in Germany. And who was behind it,” West said on KCXL radio in January 2017.

He has spoken of “Jewish cabals” that are “harvesting baby parts” from Planned Parenthood, abuse children and control the Republican Party. West also has a YouTube channel on which he has made homophobic, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic and racist statements.

It's official. The GOP has become the white supremacist party.

I assume people heard this.
I expect his opponent(s) actually hit him on this. Did they?

Regardless, Republicans better pray a Democrat wins that seat.

According to the OP there were a total of 3 people running. So this man does represent the choice of GOP voters who bothered to vote (I haven't looked at the turn out numbers). FYI the incumbent is a Democrat and was probably safe regardless of who ran on the GOP ticket.

I'm sure we're all sitting on the edge of our chairs, wondering if the Odessa Conspiracy will establish a Fourth Reich in America.

[Over our dead bodies . . ]

John Carpenter's "Thing" in the White House has emboldened these mentally diseased jerks.

For that reason, I'm puzzled over the "Unite the Right" turnout in DC. Was the small turnout a coherent strategy? "Stay away! We'll slither under a rock for a few months! It's bad press to cause trouble on the anniversary of Charlottesville!" Was it a failure to move the vast White Supremacy following toward a coordinated success? Or was it the "heat" brought on by journalists analyzing Charlottesville video capture and following last year's organizers to far points like Long Beach, CA? Judge for yourself.

I bet that the incumbent in the Missouri statehouse election is going to blow West away.

But I'm not pouring myself a cocktail until after the fall election. Back in September 2016, I and a friend from Maryland were sitting in a hotel restaurant in Arcadia, CA ruminating on the coming election. And I was saying "He [It] could win." And my friend said "Don't worry -- Hillary is a shoe-in."

The signs, however, are all over the map. For instance, here in California, some of us have focused our attention on Devin Nunes' congressional seat in the 22nd district. In 2014 and 2016, Nunes trounced the Democratic opposition by well over 20 points -- both of them Hispanic candidates. Today, Andrew Janz is behind Nunes by only 5 to 7 points. Danny O'Connor's squeaky loss (still too close to call) is still unresolved. If those are indicators, the Alt-Right is going to get a back-handed slap in the face, and the GOP is going to be on life support.

Hey, when the choices come down to either being an outspoken anti-semitic willing to get beat really bad at the polls or a liberal baby murdering pro gay marrying leftist (who coincidentally just so happens to be a Jew), well what's a patriotic Repub to do, y'know?

Sometimes I think I need to feel a little sorry for the Repubs and what their party has turned into, but then I think about them voting Trump into office and that feeling just vaporizes into the cosmos.

Righties tell us racism is equal on both sides. Exactly where is the Democrat running for office who has anti-white anti-Jewish views??

Right now I think there are around 12 Republicans who mimic white supremacists/Nazis

You're confused. This was a GOP primary. All 3 candidates in the field were socially conservative republicans.

The GOP base is white supremacist. Full stop. The GOP base has been groomed to be so with years of programming by the right-wing cult media to be racist through fear mongering.

Gotta go where the votes are and that sure ain't from the party (and the people it represents) that outright despises white supremacy in all of its dehumanizing hateful glory.

Of course, I believe there are many conservatives who aren't racists, but as the saying goes, "you lay with dogs and....."

Here I stand with dick in hand, embarrassed as I stand corrected. Thanks.

The GOP was fucked up LONG before Trump got involved. Trump just showed them that they don't even have to pretend anymore. No matter what they do there are legions of conservatives that don't care and legions more independents that will just say both sides the same.

Just waiting for the false equivalency comparing this assclown to Ocasio-Cortez (Dems are just as extreme because a socialist won her primary!) because you know it's coming. The only question is which stooge runs with those talking points first?

You're wrong about that. Donny is not John Carpenter's "Thing".

You just need special glasses to see him as he really is..

Missouri has been steadily declining into insane Republican land. Isn't their governor currently going through a mess over an affair where he went fucking insane trying to cover it up. (Yep, he resigned over that just a couple of months back.) The Republicans have also been going insane there trying to get McCaskill out after she won over Todd "legitimate rape" Akin. They have explosive diarrhea so they couldn't keep their shit even if they wanted to.

The Thing was honestly better than They Live but both great Carpenter classics that have held up well. Going to have to watch them now that youve mentioned it

Yup and then once you call them out on their usual shitposts they obfuscate and derail the thread some more and end with the "who, me?" act
