Wrong assertions in that link you posted from a blog written 3 months ago. It has since been proven Wilson did know about the robbery and was approaching Michael Brown because of the robbery. Also, as part of Rule 404, drug usage by the individual allow for Mens Rea for state of mind evidence to be entered more easily.

Proven? That is doubtful.

In any event, won't this whole problem go away if we just throw Wilson in jail for a couple of years? Wouldn't it be worth it to avoid the rioting and mayhem? I get the feeling that the violence will never stop until we as a nation do something to punish Wilson (regardless of whether he did anything wrong or not).

Yes proven. Wilson was told by dispatch to be on the look out for a suspect matching Michael Brown's description. Wilson reported he found someone matching the description and asked for backup to the scene. It is proven on record and released as evidence in the case already.

The police chief himself said Brown was not pulled over because of the robbery.

Are you calling the chief and therefore the police department liars??

http://wtvr.com/2014/08/15/michael-brown-robbery-suspect/

You do know what they mean by "initial contact," right? If I pull you over because you have a tail light out but it turns out that you had just robbed a bank and I realize that you fit the description only after seeing you more closely, the initial contact was still unrelated. They didn't lie. People latched onto that as if it was proof that there was no way Wilson knew. That was ridiculous from the start, and I made sure to point it out. You must not have been listening if you are still hung up on it.

Lynch mob mentality. I know you are being facetious, but people really do act like lynch mobs these days.

No, I am saying that the police chief had stated incorrect information during his initial press conferences regarding the info early on. Why he got the wrong information given to him to be restated at the press conference is beyond me. It has since come out that Wilson did approach Brown based off the robbery. That link you have is from information given to the press 3 months ago.

People can be incorrect without being liars. Why do you have to use a strawman for your argument?

More incorrect information like the broken orbital? Video I saw last night shows Wilson had only minor facial injuries. Not exactly actions by the police dept the community can trust. In additional to the leaks.

Altercation by both sides occurred at the car. That does not give Wilson the right to shoot Brown if he is surrendering.

I've seen the videos and none were close or clear enough to make out anything. Sorta reminds me of the videos of Zimmerman at the police station where everyone claimed he had not sustained any injuries yet the pictures that showed up later proved otherwise.

You have the right to assume he was "surrendering," but know that it is a stupid assumption and you can't make your point with it.

Incorrect info doesn't mean it was a lie. It could have been, or an honest mistake. Wilson was punched in the face and did go to the hospital for it. I bet he also got an x-ray to check to make sure he didn't get a hairline fracture in his orbital socket. On top of that, in the case with the broken orbital socket, it was not the police that made that statement at all but a media website. They probably got part of the info and went with it.

Strawman moar I guess.

I wasn't aware of the robbery being any more than speculation until I found out that dorian admitted that brown stole something.

You weren't aware of the robbery being anymore than speculation? Must be because you're fucking retarded.

One other rebuttal made at the time but a currently active federal prosecutor, which has been mirrored by opinions of several judges outside of this case.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ld-be-admissible-at-a-federal-criminal-trial/

Basically stating Ken White is full of shit in regards to his application of 404b with regards to this case.

That was also all written 3 months ago when the assumption was that Wilson did not approach Brown because of the robbery which has thus been disproved.

So yes it matters, and yes it would be used as evidence. More so for a grand jury hearing than an actual trial.

This was the kind of justice that was commonly meted out to blacks in the past. It now appears that some now think this kind of lynch whitey "justice" is acceptable today regardless of actual guilt.

Um.... so what is your solution?!!

You know for a fact that if they let this cop off the hook, the first round of rioting is gonna look tame in comparison.

Looks like the Friday after Thanksgiving we'll see "protests" at many St. Louis area malls regardless of whether the Grand Jury decision is issued by then. I imagine that the high-end electronics stores will be heavily "protested". Meanwhile, gun sales in St. Louis are skyrocketing.

Did you even bother to read what you type? Do you really believe what you wrote? Wow, just wow.

Last time I check, the US justice system is based on INNOCENT until proven otherwise. Not let throw him/her in jail to appease the mob. Goodness.

How about let throw you in jail in a few years so you won't able to post in this forum to avoid sheer stupidity? You dig?

Do this and you guarantee that there'll be riots and other forms of intimidation anytime an incident like this happens again. 'Give us our way or we burn the town down' can not be allowed to become the law of the land.

No I wasn't aware anything official had been released. There's a difference moron.

You mean the video that was officially released by the PD? Are you so out of touch with this case you don't know they officially released a video of the robbery Brown committed right before he was killed?

Any government who sends the innocent to prison to placate a mob needs to be removed even if it requires force. What you suggested cannot be allowed.

The Governor is activated National Guards in preparation = http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/missouri-governor-activates-national-guard-26975108

Good call. Better to have it and not need it than get caught unprepared.
Agreed. Sad though.

How is ivwshane the only person here who doesn't think that robbing a store and shoving the clerk says something about a person?
Well, I agree it says quite a lot about Brown at that particular moment in time, likely including when he had his run-in with Brown. I think though that this has been vastly overplayed. Lots of people have done things which are stupid and even evil when high. The totality of a person is not one afternoon, and while I'm not at all buying the witness' story that Brown was ministering to his soul and merely took a short break to rob a convenience store before returning, neither do I think this necessarily makes Brown a thug. It says something about Brown; it does not say everything about Brown.

I'll answer your question this way. If the police dept and local DA had conducted a fair and competent investigation it would have greatly lessened the chance of violence.

As far as the video it is irrelevant in the confrontation between Wilson and Brown since Wilson didn't know about the robbery.
It's relevant to the degree that it shows Brown's state of mind at the time Wilson stopped him. Also, the chief has changed his story; he now says that he meant at time of the first stop, Wilson had not heard about the burglary, but then he heard the APB and re-engaged.
