I remember the old one at Disneyland where everybody sat in a circle and looked down at a circular screen that showed what was supposed to be below the ship as you took off and landed on Mars.
LOL, I remember that ride too. It was old and dated when I went on it in like 1980. Mission to Mars !!!!!!!!= Mission:Space.
Yes, it was tragic that a child died on the ride. I was very sad to hear that. But in all likelihood, the child had an unknown medical condition that was aggravated by the physical intensity of the ride. Millions of people have been on this ride and less than a dozen people(all over the age of 50 I think) have had to go to the hospital with chest pain or other issues. All of them ended up being fine. Disney engineers inspected the ride and determined that it was operating normally, so it was reopened the next day.
Yes, it is very intense, but I think Soarin and Rock N Roller Coaster are better.
