Mission Control Confusion

I updated to Lion this morning and I only got to play with it a little bit, 5-10 minutes, but this has been on my mind since I got to work.

Before I used Spaces a lot. I had things like Chrome and Adium in 1, iTunes in 2, Mail in 3, etc.
I would use control + 1, 2, 3, etc to get between spaces. This morning, This seems to switch desktops fine. I load up the mail app and see it can go full screen, and I do that. I switch spaces and then try to go back to mail using control 3, and it goes blank. I can however, 3 finger swipe all the way over and it will eventually get to mail. Is there a way to make this behave as it did before?

I apologize if this is a stupid question, I only got to play with Lion for a few minutes before leaving for work but it's been on my mind the last 2 hours and I hope it's a simple solution.

Thanks!

As far as i can tell the control + 1,2,3 only works for desktops (desktop1, desktop2, desktop3).... i havnt figured out away of jumping to mail with control + yet 🙁

I'm at work and I can't fiddle with it, but if you figure it out let me know!

The only way i have got it to work so far is not to run Mail in full screen mode, then you can switch to 'desktop 2' which has mail on it with control+2. Slightly annoying, although mission control is quite nice to use! 🙂

I think i will just take the time and get used to a new way of working....

Hmm, is it just me, or are the swiping/scrolling gestures set up the wrong way by default?

It's set up like iOS where the content moves in the same direction as your finger. To view content below your current viewed content (scrolling down on a web page for example), you put your fingers at the bottom of the trackpad and move up, just as you would on an iPhone. For me, this works on a screen as you "grab" the content and move it up. I always have it set to work the opposite way, like a scroll wheel.

Then there's the swiping left/right to get to different apps/spaces. I like the "grab the window to move it over" idea, but it works opposite. I want to switch this but I can't seem to figure out how.
