Missing winload.exe?

Yesterday I used Acronis to transfer Vista from my old raptor to a new Velociraptor. It went fine and I had no problems yesterday.

Today I started in safe mode to uninstall some Logitech setpoint software, which I've done before, and now when I try to boot I get the "missing \Windows\system32\windload.exe.

I've unplugged all USB devices, reset the bios, tried to run from the disc (completely removed the "boot from hard drive" option in the boot priority menu in bios, CDROM is the only choice), and I've swapped the channels so that my old Raptor is in the primary sata channel and my Velociraptor is in the last one. I still get the message. The only way to get past this screen is to unplug the Velociraptor altogether.

What should I try next?

You could try a repair or fixmbr on your vista disc, you may have just messed up the bootloader.

Yeah, before I wasn't able to even access the disc, but I finally got into it and did a repair and it fixed the problem. I must have reset the bios after I set the boot priority, so I mistakenly thought that it was already trying to boot from the disc. Ah well, I don't mind feeling like an idiot, as long as my computer's working.
