Missing windows98 files at boot up. msnp32.dll

any one know how I can restore this? its a laptop I just reformated, but I did not have a win98 cd available for a short part og the INI process. thanks is you can help me.

Remove the stuff from networking and add it again with the win98 cd in hand

See if it's in c:\windows\system. If it is, just tell it to look there. If it's not there, get it from another win98 machine and copy it.

I thought that Microsoft Network was part of the Online Subscription Service crap that Windows automatically adds when you install, like CompuServ, AOL, etc. You don't need it, and if you can go to Add/Remove Programs and take it out.

Go to Network in Control panel and add Client for MSNetworks if it's not there. When you close the network property window the needed files should be loaded from the Win98 CD.

dam still no good. All i need to do is share files on my network. I have file sharing enabled but when i right click on a folder there is no option to share? any on know why. ***pulls hair**

run sfc and extract the file you're looking for from the WIN98 CD.

Hehehehehe...good stuff. SFC is the Win equal to the DOS extract command.

Go to Start-Run, type sfc (enter)
