Ok, I've had this problem once before and it only fixed itself AFTER I took everything apart to put in a replacement MB (didn't work out with the new one).
Here's the situation, I've got 2 USB ports in the back of my computer (built in) and I've got a 6-in-1 USB card reader plugged into the front. In the back, I've got a USB zip drive (all of my IDE channels are taken up by HD's and CD-ROMs (3 HD's and 3 CD-Roms - I've got RAID)), and my Handspring PDA.
Keep in mind that everything has worked together for a while, so it's not like I plugged something in wrong. The last things I added to the computer was the PDA back in November (worked for a month after installing it), and the card reader (worked for 3 weeks after installing it).
I've tried multiple reboots (tho I am beginning to think of using a shoe soon), but that hasn't fixed it. I've gone as far as to unplug all of the devices (fans, drives, etc.) and put in a regular 10 GB HD from another machine that recognizes the PDA cradle with no problem, but my computer will still not see it.
The only thing I can think of is an intermittent hardware failure, but I'm wondering if there is something else here that I'm missing.
