I've seen posters up around campus, and just received this e-mail. Figured I'd post it and try to do my own little part.

Edit: She has been found, now searching for a suspect....

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS:

We are enlisting your help as a member of the UW-Madison community in locating Audrey Ruth Seiler, a 20-year-old university student who disappeared over the weekend.

Audrey was last seen on Saturday at about 2:30 a.m. at the Regent Apartments, 1402 Regent St., where she lives. Audrey is 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has long brown hair and blue eyes.

When she was last seen, Audrey was wearing a navy blue pair of sweatpants, and an oversized burgundy Abercrombie & Fitch hooded sweatshirt with large white numbers on the front. She was also wearing either white flip-flops or tennis shoes.

If you have seen Audrey, or know where she is, Madison police are asking that you contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014 or City of Madison Police Department at 266-4275. Audrey's family and friends are offering a reward for any information leading to her location.

Yikes, hope she's found unharmed. I really get on my fiancee's case about walking alone when it's dark out. I don't care how safe the area is supposed to be. Too bad mace isn't easily purchaseable here in NY.

So any details about what she was last doing ? Probably partying Friday night into Saturday... seen with others ? Altercations ? Intoxicated ?

College girl walking home at 2:00am in sweatpants and sweatshirt.

We can deduce a few things from this simple statement...
1. She is a college student (duh)
2. She was intoxicated
3. She just had sex

Now, correct me if I am incorrect, but did everyone just miss the obvious answers here?
She either...
1. Passed out and woke up in some field and is wandering around trying to find out where she is.
2. Went to a friend's house to get some more
3. Got picked up by some stranger who looked like a friend and got some more.

Tell me why I need to look for this individual.

Me too. I lived on the top floor and could see the end zone of Camp Randall. Anyway, hope they find her. When I was living there a student died in their room. That place must be cursed or something.

We'll be as uncaring as soon as we find out you're 100% correct, how's that ? Until then, people worry for missing individuals. I can deduce that you don't have a child of your own yet.

Why is it that people who get drunk and start licking high voltage wires get Darwin Awards, but people who get drunk and go missing are felt sorry for? I say they should all be lumped in the same catagory.

Yeah point out where it says she DID go to a party or got drunk.
Audrey was last seen leaving the Regent around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Madison Police Officer Jennifer Krueger said.
She was leaving her own place at 230am and never arrived at her friends'.

I can tell you what category you should be lumped into.

I dunno what college you went to, but where I went to school, when girls went out drinking, they got dressed UP.

It's an assumption. How many college students would be up at that time if they were not drinking? In a bulleting like this, do you really think they would actually point out something like that?

"She was leaving home at 2:30am drunk off her @$$ and never arrived...". No. However, I would wager that she was intoxicated.

When hanging out around campus and going to friend's house's?

Probably at least 75% of them.

Based on this assumption, you're willing to throw her out as an irresponsible typical teenage drunk who'll eventually find her own way home. Ok.

If you read the 2nd article and quit being so hard-headed... it says she was expected to go watch a movie at 230am - and she was seen leaving. She was noticed to be missing when she didn't show up. Drunkeness in a situation like this ? Not likely. Regardless, you don't throw concern aside because you think they were drunk and deserve whatever happens to them (because you obviously don't feel like you should care).

Well, I was up just about every night of my college career at 2:30AM and on only some of those nights was I drinking. I guess you're trying to "make us see a less obvious point of view," but you're just making yourself look bad.

I am up until 4 AM frequently, and the majority of the time I am not anywhere near drunk/have not been drinking. This is a huge campus, and the possibility for violent crime is very real. I frequently walk Lakeshore path at night, and I still get the chills every now and then, even as a 21 year old male who can defend himself if need be.
