Missing something from my insurance policy?

Time to cough up my 6 month payment for insurance and I'm going over the policy and there's
something written at the bottom.

Something along the lines of the policy not protecting me from uninsured motorist.
I thought we bought full coverage though! I know we have liability, so what am I missing?

Uninsured motorist coverage is a rider that has to be added to your policy. You definitely need it.

I can never remember... does uninsured motorist cover you in the event that someone who's not insured has an accident with you? (your insurance company pays what his should have, then goes after him). Or does it cover someone driving your car who's not listed on your policy.
