Missing Picture. STored in msn Cache perhaps?

Here's a question for you.

In msn 6.2 and greater you can have an image on your hard drive as your 'icon' if you will. it shows up in your message window. now when you 'add' a picture to the msn icon window it saves the name of the image and a preview in the msn options.

Here's the issue,

my friend wants a picture that he can select and show on msn as his icon but he cannot find it on his hard drive. searching for the picture via the find feature turns up nothing.

Any idea on where this picture is? My best guess is that its stored in a msn cache/temp file somewhere. Could this be the answer?

He really needs the original picture back.

Many thanks if this has a solution!

it's a .jpeg but more importantly is the fact that msn stores the name of the file. So when you search by that name (without the extension) it WILL turn up. Even with all "hidden folders" options on its still not turning up

he has done that too and made sure that the search is checking all drives and all hidden/system folders

i've even had him not use an extension but just the name of the image.

still nothing

ONe thing i told him to check is the shared files area on the pc. that appears to be a gray area as more than 1 thing has turned up for me there that would not show via the find feature...

will get back to you on that one but i doubt it.

Thanks!
