Why is it whenever when some wife or little child goes missing, it becomes front page news?

I mean here we are in the midst of war, terrorism, high fuel prices...but when a a married woman goes for a walk and doesn't come back the next day, its breaking news on CNN.

And they are always white. Always. And never an adult male.

Maybe I'm just cynical...

Yesterday, they had one of those missing people alerts on FOX13 (Tampa Bay) for like a 9 year old Hispanic girl. What about that little girl that got kidnapped and tied up and whatnot, and ripped through the rope and escaped, I know she wasn't white, I forgot which minority she was though.

I think its a sad commentary on the media and Americans in general. The things we consider to be news are generally insignificant. How has the Scott Peterson Trial changed our lives? And How much $$ did news outlets make off that story?

But again, doesn't surprise me anymore.
 
Firstly, they are NOT always white.

Now... the reason they are never men... is because the sick fvckers that take, rape and murder these poor females like helpless girls and little women... not grown men.

As far as being front page on all over teevee... well, now that many of the news channels have gone 24/7/365... they need to fill the airtime... so everythint gets overdone.
