Missing I/O plate

Just got my Nividia 680i board and checked to see if my current cases shield would lineup and it didn't. So I looked for my shield that I would assume come with the case and it wasn't in there.

I ordered from Amazon so I really don't know what kind of return policies they have. I also reaaalllly don't want to send the whole board back for a new one. If they send me a new one straight out. Is it okay to run without a shield at all. I would assume there would be no issues but wanted to check first.

An I/O shield should have come with your motherboard, if it was a retail package. If you ordered a retail package and didn't get a shield, contact the motherboard manufacturer.

You can run without one as well, there's just a greater chance of dust collecting in that area and such. It's an entirely non-critical component.

A replacement shield can usually be purchased from the manufacturer.
For example: a Gigabyte board, purchased as "open box" from Newegg, came without an I/O shield.
Gigabyte (offices in California) charged $9.00, shipped, for a replacement.

These are slightly thicker than the cheapo tin-can I/O shields that seem to be standard these days even on exorbitantly priced premium boards. And they cost the same or less as the others when ordered from the mobo manufacturer, to boot.
