Missing himem.sys in Win98?

Hi all,

My computer's OS is Win98 and it fails to enter window...
even not successful when using the safe mode.
I type C:\win under Dos,
and it say himem.sys is missing...
I try to copy himem.sys from another computer(win2000) to c:\windows\system\
but it still can't find the himem.sys file...

Where should I put this file correctly?

Get your win98 cd and put it in your cdrom.
then enter the following commands at the dos prompt.

D:

cd win98

extract /a /y /e /l c:\windows base4.cab himem.sys

now restart your computer, should be operating normally.
