Just out of curiousity, why DID space sims fall out of favor? I mean, I figure Freespace 2 was a big hit. It shouldn't be that hard to create another worthy game. You got the Freespace, Star Wars, Star Trek, Wing Commander universes well established. All you'd need to do was to make some new ships, add some creative weapons, add some varied environments (asteroid fields, floating mine fields, moons etc.), up the graphics and the game should be fun. It sounds like a lot but considering the amount of money and effort they pump into FPS's, it should be pretty easy. The ONE thing I liked about Battlecruiser is that you could fight in space and on planets. Maybe they should take a shot at that element too. I'll always refer back to freespace but they did everything right with the sequel. They added some incredible, MASSIVE battles, a great story, a few new environments and a few new ships and they had a winner.
