Hello,
I have a folder on my E: drive that was there a few weeks ago and now it is gone. It had some music and some files.

-Of course, "Show all folders" is checked.
-I tried to scan for a unmounted partition with Find and Mount
-Thinking I may have deleted it, I scanned with Recuva and Restoration, but it did not find the folder.

I am at a loss, any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot

if they did not find it, it's gone. do you remember any of the file names that were in that folder?

Hmm, not really sure. I have not went to that folder for months.

One other weird thing, that drive is 60GB and it is full, but the folders that I can see only add up to 18GB so I think that folder is there it just cannot be seen..

Does the drive show the remaining space above the 18gb as free space?

No, the space above the 18GB is shown as used. So I cannot access 42GB of space...
Any ideas

has chkdsk ran? my Vista screwed up my 2nd partition and messed up some directories, I couldn't see them in Explorer even with the show hidden folders option checked. I would try this, open a CMD box, go to your partition and type "cd found.000" replace 000 with .001 .002 .003

If chkdsk did something to the folder you won't be able to find it searching for the folder name, if you know a file name that would work. CMD box is your friend. This might not be your problem, but it was mine and I was able to recover the majority of what I needed.

If its FAT or FAT32 file system then move the files to another drive, format and then move them back. FAT volumes have a habit of making space "disappear" I was told that its because of the way entries are stored in the file table, not sure how accurate that is but I do know that after a while space starts coming up missing.
