Missing FaD results?

I suppose if things have to go wrong, they might as well all do it at the same time. I'm pretty depressed about my new computer not working properly, but I was really hoping for some "light at the end of the tunnel" when one of the systems I just brought online with FaD dumped a 5200 point job and its neighbor dumped a 2600 point job at almost exactly the same time (within about 15 minutes of each other). Not a huge deal compared to what I hope to have eventually, but would have been a good start since my two home systems are working on big jobs and probably won't post any results for a few days.

However, both of those jobs were returned to FaD nearly 8 hours ago and still are not showing up on my stats. Is there a normal delay between the time results are returned and when they are counted in the stats, and if so, how long does it normally take? I haven't noticed any significant delay on my other results (they have showed up within 30 minutes or so of being uploaded).

I have checked both computers in question and confirmed that they are configured with the correct user name, email address, and team number, and FADSpy says that the results were uploaded without successfully.

ive had jobs that have been delayed for 12 hours at one point. on the other hand, i had jobs that NEVER were posted to the stats site but THINK told me they were counted toward my totals even though they didnt show....there use to be a stats query page where you could write up THINK and he would confirm your results had been uploaded but i just went to check it and it is no longer in use 🙁 id sit tight for at least 24 hours then write the support email if they still dont post.

From what I understand the stats are only updated 4 times/day. I'm still learning about the stats myself. I see rather large differences between Geoff's stats and THESE. Not sure what's going on, but I'm moving up in the ranks regardless, always a good thing! hehehehe 😀

Well, they just showed up on the stats at FaD and on Geoff's site, so I'm feeling better now. They weren't worth as many points as I thought FADSpy said they would be, but at least my stats aren't empty for the day any more. 😀

I'll feel even better tomorrow when my wife's PC dumps a 3+ day job!

Now if I can just get the stupid Barton to post so I can start cranking out even more points. 🙂

Oh, and the remote office might have to wait a week or two since I have a family wedding this Saturday and I'll be on vacation next Saturday. But I'm hoping for 50K+ points per day after I get things rolling properly. 😎

What FaDSPY estimates may be wrong, but if you go to the Uploaded Jobs tab, it will tell you what you actually got on them.

I hope you can get 50k+, that's pretty ambitious! I have a decent little herd and I can't seem to sustain that level.

50K was just a guess, but since you questioned my guess, I'll have to try and make an 'educated' guess. 🙂

This is the list of computers I expect to have online with a rough guess at what they will do...

Home:
Athlon XP2000+ (24/7) <-already running ~4K per day so far
Barton XP2500+ (24/7) <-will replace the P3-866 running now and will probably be overclocked. ~1500 per day now on the P3, expect 5K+ from the Barton

In-laws:
P4 3.2Ghz HT (~2 hours per day)
P4-M 1.6Ghz (~2-4 hours per day)
These won't do a whole lot of work since they aren't online much but they are quick when they are running. Together maybe 200-300 points per day average considering probably 4 days a week at 2 hours each...

Office:
P3-933 (24/7) Domain controller and file server. ~1K per day due to heavy load during work hours (already online)
P3-866 (~9/5) only on during business hours. ~400 per day
Athlon 1.0Ghz (9/5) ~400 per day
Athlon XP 1800+ (9/5) ~1000 per day
Athlon XP 1800+ (not sure, but probably 24/7) ~3000 per day
Celeron 1.8Ghz (9/5) ~1000 per day
Celeron 1.8Ghz (probably 9/5) ~1000 per day
Celeron 2.4 Ghz (I think) (24/7) ~4000-4500 per day
P4 2.8 Ghz (9/5) ~1600 per day
P4 3.0 Ghz (9/5) ~1600 per day
P4 2.66 Ghz (24/7) ~4500 per day (already online)
P4 3.0 Ghz (24/7) ~4800 per day
P4 3.2 Ghz HT (9/5) ~1800 per day
P4 3.2 Ghz HT (9/5) ~1800 per day

These numbers are totally rough estimates except for the ones that are already online, so I could be way off, but I come up with a guess of about 35-38K per day. Not quite the 50K I had guessed at but still a pretty decent number. It would more likely be close to the 50K I estimated if they were all going to be running 24/7, but since they aren't, I'll take whatever I can get. 🙂

That's a much better estimate. You'll find this project is not nearly consistent as SETI. You points/day is going to fluctuate somewhat wildly. It's prob better to look at the weeks avg since some jobs can take 3 days to complete.
