Ever since I assembled my comp with my K7T Turbo Limited Edition Mobo, I've had a device that I could never install the drivers for. "USB Host To Host Bridge" would never install properly. There were no drivers included with the mobo nor are they on windows update, or on MSI's webpage. Anyone else have this mobo and have the driver for that?

I'm pretty sure that this is the reason why my computer has been freezing/BSOD. BSOD says IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO and points at a file name USBsomething.sys or .dll can't remember. So I'm certain that is the cause to all my problems, so if I could find the driver for this bitch it would really help!! =\=\=\

The USB PC2PC driver is NOT what you need.....that is a application to use USB to connect 2 comps.

This is the link you need,....LINK

Download the USB 2.0 Drivers that are appropriate for your system......

Enjoy.

Thanks... Got that driver issue fixed... but didn't fix my lock up problems.

Actually I fixed that so my comp no longer locks, but at the cost of having to disable all onboard USB support via BIOS. So... no USB now =\ Any Suggestions???

You helped me with the first issue. Now take a crack at that!!! =)

Note: My USB is 1.1 NOT 2.0 so the 2.0 drivers don't help me =\

MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition
VIA KT133A chipset
VIA 686B SouthBridge

Thanks

What OS are you using? Is it a VIA based board do you have win 9X installed? Look at viaarena.com and down load the usb filter if it is appropriate for your system. Maybe that will help.

Using WinXP. I've reformatted twice thinking driver might be corrupt, run windows update, etc. etc.
I'll try looking for USB filter, but from what I saw on www.via.com.tw they didn't have the usb 1.1 filter for my mobo. Just checked viaarena.com also. They didn't have a filter for 1.1 for my mother board K7T Turbo LE. Only KT266. =\

Since I just built a system useing the MSI turbo2 and a 1900xp last weekend, I will give this a shot. I found that MSI and the AMD xp need GOOD power, you dont state what power supply you have. I read alot of hardware Tech sites and discussion groups before I did this upgrade and most of the problems were caused by weak power supplys. You can have a 400 watt, rated by the manufacturer and still have a weak power supply. With the K7T series of MSI motherboards it is recomended to have a minimum of 180 watts of combined on the 3 & 5 rails, and 200 watts if you have a Geforce4. MSI has a good forum located Here that will provide some excellent help for your board. Last year I bought a Powmax 400 watt power supply in anticipation of upgradeing to an AMD or P4 from my Asus P3b-f and P3-900, in checking the 3&5 rail rateing I found that it was a waste of money the 3&5 rail was 180 watt. Alot of the people were doing great with Sparkle 300 watt PS-SP300-60BTVS, yes only 300 watt but 200 watt combined for 3&5 rail, so I did a pricewatch search and found one Here for $35.00 delivered. So far all has worked great with a dual boot win98 and win2k on 2 drives, neaither of which had to be reinstalled because I was useing a promise 133 card. I also have burner, cdrom, geforce2-gtsv and on the USB, 2 Web cams and a scanner. Sorry this is so long, and I hope it helps..

Why would my PSU have anything to do with USB failure just curious?

Anyhoo I have a antec 300W PSU with 160 watt max output (dunno if that's what you're referring to) and the system runs pretty stable with USB disabled. When I had it enabled only thing I was using the USB ports was my MS intellimouse explorer 3.0. I don't see that as being a high power consumption device. printer/scanner maybe but not mouse. And when I had USB enabled it would randomly freeze/blue screen(IRQ not less than or equal to -> USBsomething.dll or .sys dun remember)

My friend suggested that some older mobo's with USB 1.0/1.1 had problems and the only way to fix that was disabling USB/getting another USB card. Anyone hear anything like that?

"Aeremis Missing Driver Can't Find anywhere?!" Here is part of the MSI FAQ on power supplys written by the senior mod on the MSI forum....

The problems with too little powersupplies can range from:

Not starting.
Crashes in the BIOS.
Bought a new videocard and it doesn't run anymore.
High pitch noises.
Crashing randomly.
OS not installing.
Crashing when playing games.
CPU FSB won't run at 133MHz.
Drivers not installing. <<<<<<<NOTE>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You name it....
Here is the link to the Full Faq on MSI problem solvingLINK
I am certainly not an expert on this subject, but this is where I would look.........

Ichecked the spes for the Antec SL300S and found * +5V and +3.3V combined output: 220Watts max. so your power supply is fine...unless its going bad...

Actually... this is my power supply .

The combined output is only 160 watts. Is that a problem? Should I invest in a new PSU? cause I still get random lockups something but not at all as frequent as when I had USB support enabled. Maybe like once every 1-2 days of being on.

Thanks for the advice every1 =)

P.S. Heh... too bad I can't change the topic title to "PSU advice plz Help!"

Well since you do really have the 160 watt r I would bet on it being the problem. Look in my first reply and go to the MSI forum, there you will find other guys with basicly the same problems as you. The first question from the moderators is "Do you have a power supply with combined output of 180 watts Minimum and 200 watts minimum if you were to use a Geforce4". If you could swap power supplys with one of your friends, it would conferm or rule it out. Make sure theirs is 180 or above.
Hope this helps, and good luck......

Newegg has a Sparkle FSP300-60ATVS for $32. and that is the one I have in mine, they have a 350 watt but it is out of stock.
