Missing BIOS support for my new Mobile CPU?

Hi this is my first post. Sorry for my poor english, i'm italian.
Today after some hours i successfully upgraded my CPU with a Turion 64 X2 Ultra ZM-87 (btw great CPU), on a HP DV6 1214SL (spec. here).
A bit hard work due to many screws but finally all seems working, except some power managament software. CPU RightMark utility show "unknow cpu" (despite it claims support for Turion Ultra). CrystalCPUID says "unknown AMD CPU". Notebook hardware control doesn't show multipliers and VIDs. However CPU scaling works correctly (as shown in CPU-Z). OS is Windows 7 Professional RTM 32 bit.

What could be wrong? Maybe missing proper BIOS support for this model?

Thanks in advance for helping!

I'm guessing it's a bios issue, as you suggested. If you enter bios at system boot-up, and view the screen that displays the CPU which is installed in the laptop, it may become clear whether or not your installed bios can identify the CPU.

To Gremo,

In my mind, you may have hit it exactly by asking, "What could be wrong? Maybe missing proper BIOS support for this model?"

Step one before choosing any CPU is to check if your motherboard supports list for that cpu, in some cases a reflash to a newer bios version is all that is needed, and in other cases your mobo and bios will see that cpu as something else, and in another cases the new CPU will not work at all.

Agree, this is the normal way of a "right" cpu update. However maybe simple for a desktop cpu, not for a mobile one. I cannot check the complete specifications of my motherboard, so the compatibility has to be checked only against FSB, voltage and maybe power consumption (and other few informations googling). BIOS is already updated, but the do not release new bios as quick as for desktop motherboards.
And by the way the update was succesfull, all is working but the "strange" software behaviour. Because the BIOS shows the correct name, i really can't understand why this is happening...
