I've got a Tyan motherboard with an AMIBIOS chip that's no longer there. 😉 Is it possible to take an AMIBIOS chip from another board, slap it in, and hot-flash it from a floppy to get the proper BIOS on there?
 
You can get a BIOS chip programmed with the BIOS of your choice for about $16.00 shipped from Ebay. I've used Bios Depot a few times and no compliants.
