Missing audio codec

I'm trying to play a video of Absolutely Fabulous and the video plays fine, but there is no audio. I noticed that Windows Media Player 8 tries to download a codec but with an error, no surprise considering it is a complete and total POS. Does anyone know what sort of audio codec I need to download to listen to this? I'm using Windows XP.

Thanks!

i have problems with .avi's every once in a while. have you tried installing the divx codec? that helped me in the past. you can download it here

Yep, I sure have. I had problems with running AVI's without any video but with audio (until I downloaded DIVX). But this is the opposite problem. I can see the video just fine but no audio is coming out whatsoever! I've tried running it in WMP 8 and Realplayer and Quicktime, but to no avail.

could just be that the file was encoded incorrectly, i have come across files that just don't have the sound, or look like they should, but never work...
