Missing a mounting post

Well, I am installing the motherboard, but I am missing a mounting post. Any suggestions on a temporary substitute?

If your talking about the little gold posts that screw into the case then the motherboard screws onto, those are really common. usually a bag of them comes with the case. If not try going to a local computer store and asking them for one or two, they should have 47thousand sitting around. as long as you have the board screwed in at least 3 places and its not real loose there shouldnt be a problem.

Even the big boys, Dell, HP, etc don't always install all the posts on the MOBO. Leave out the one that won't get a lot of down pressure when installing something like memory, or on a corner. The middle one by the last PCI slot maybe? Good luck.

Yup, not every one is necessary. Their only purpose is to keep the board from touching the case. They're also known as motherboard standoffs for this reason. I left one out in my last install.
