I cannot believe i forgot. I was summoned on like August 31st for Nov.1 and COMPLETELY forgot..

I think with all the hype going on around the election, and just plain BUSY at work. I completely forgot..

Arizona state law says if you don't appear you can receive up to a $500 fine.

That Sucks.

But I should have been prepared.

I'm sure a letter is in the mail now.

I've missed jury duty 3 times for various reasons in the past 4 years. I never called to tell them i couldn't make it, and they never called/mailed/fined me or gave any indication they cared. This is in mass BTW.

I'm not worried about being in trouble, I'm worried about the $500 fine.

I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can reschedule.
 
I just talked to a couple people and they say normally, you call the night before and give your #, it then lets you know if you are needed or not..

exact same thing in CA. i have also been pulled over by the police since missing jury duty, and i presume they ran my license to see if there were warrents out for me or anything, and nope, no trouble. they just use that crap as a scare tactic to get you to come.

that's right. you may not have even been needed at all. i got out once that way.
