MISSED my Jury duty.

In CA you can show up 2 weeks before or up to 2 weeks after the date without calling if you need to.
 
i missed mine the first time idiots in la county didnt think when i said im not in the county because of school, she should have cancelled me - apparently in LA county school isnt a reason even if ur in a county 400 miles away, they sent me a "show cause" 2nd notice. Meaning i had to show up or i would be in trouble. So i showed up the 2nd time.

 
Just call and explain. It's not THAT big a deal; they usually have 4-5x as many people (at least) than they need to serve.

In Georgia, an arrest warrant was issued by two of the judges I served for the people that missed; the other didn't really care much. But if you call and explain they'll reschedule you without any fanfare.
 
Don't be worried over it, its not like it was an important trial anyways. Just let them know you forgot, or insert some random excuse then they should let it slide.

Well I'm wondering if it's too late to call now, its been 5 days.

I can call this morning or wait it out and see.

Call and explain. They'll likely just reschedule you.

I have a friend who showed up for jury duty once. When the judge saw how few jurors showed, he went down the list of those who were there, handed the list to the bailiff and ordered arrest warrants be issued for everyone who didn't appear.

While it's likely nothing will happen to you, you CAN be arrested for failing to appear for jury duty.

I think with all the hype going on around the election, and just plain BUSY at work. I completely forgot..

Arizona state law says if you don't appear you can receive up to a $500 fine.

That Sucks.

But I should have been prepared.

I'm sure a letter is in the mail now.

Just mail them a check for $500 and your problem is solved. Do they take Paypal? 😀
 
Did you RSVP or did they have some sort of confirmation on the letter. You can just play dumb and say you never got it, and thats even if they do bother to track you down. In my experience, they will just reschedule you to perform your duty another time.
