Wow 47 yards for a high school kicker's not bad at all. I think our kicker maxed out at around 30-35.

You wonder if there's a rule that it counts if it crosses the uprights, not ends up past them.

Seriously, that looks like a field-turf surface (As in Edward Jones Dome, as in Saint Louis Rams).

I'm serious, the ball used to kick FG's is shaped a little differently, I think it'd fatter around the sides.
