They left me a little postcard that I missed a package (YAY for DX!). I am off today...can I go down to the post office or will they redeliver it?

I would call them...but there are no humans that answer phones there.

On the back of the card it should say "You can pick up your item at {location} after {time}"

its probably out for delivery again, they try multiple times, unless you ask them not to.

Call them.. most times it's already on a truck and at that point you just have to wait for redelivery. If you had caught it yesterday you could have marked the package as a pick-up and they would have left it off the truck. It's too late for that now though.

USPS doesn't try to deliver to my house. I've been looking out the window as the mail man walked up and just put my mail, including the "We missed you" post card, into my mail box. He did not have a package or make any attempt to see if I was home. Lazy dick.

So if I need to sign for a USPS delivery my choices are to try to catch the mail man as he comes to my house and demand my package (not likely to be successful + giant pain in the ass) or go pick it up (pain in the ass, but less so than the first option).

This always happens to me with DX packages. Just find out where your zip code's post office is and go there before they close, and bring the slip USPS left obviously.

I usually wait until 30 minutes before close time to pick up missed packages on the same day. This ensures the driver has made his rounds for the day and has returned back to the post office.

The postal carriers around here don't bother either. It doesn't even surprise me, they don't even bother putting the mail into the correct mail boxes--I get my neighbors' mail and they get mine about twice a week.

What was that Chevy Chase movie where he kept trying to catch the mail man?
