Funny how different it would be if many of you suddenly deeming her "unfit" (as if you ever had a chance anyhow) saw her having a cocktail or a beer. Or even smoking a joint.

People are so conditioned to be unreasonably biased against tobacco use these days.

how is it unreasonable? its a disgusting habit. it makes your breath, clothes, body, house, car, and whatever you use smell like smoke. it stains your teeth, nails, and skin. it causes cancer. it can make a nice voice sound awful.

Most of those things are noticable in heavy smokers. Many people smoke lightly/occationally and are very careful to hide those signs of abuse.

I'll bet Miss USA does not stink, have stained nails and teeth or have a nasty voice. I'll also bet her house and car don't reek as well.

And alcohol and pot have their own health complications from over use as well.

Funny how you immediately associate the signs of overuse to all smokers.

If you saw someone smoking a cigar, would you jump to these same conclusions?

If you saw someone drinking a beer, would you associate them with all alcoholics?

Cancer, smelly breath, horrible smoke on everything including furniture, the car, and clothes. Unhealthy habit for having children. Costs a lot of money. Generally unsavory and unattractive.

Its amazing how seeing Miss America smoke one cigarette turns her into a sloppy, nasty, disgusting human being unfit to procreate.

Smoker?

Oh yes, of course. Just like I'm a druggie because I oppose the war of drugs. Or a homosexual because I support equal rights fer gays. Or an alcoholic because I oppose blue laws. Or a drunk driver because I think MADD has become extremely unreasonable.

I could go on, but why...?

Actually, I'm an ex-smoker who hates the smell.

Agree with your last statement. I like to smoke, but don't because i hate the smell afterwards.

In other words beggars can't be choosers.

but they can dream about turning her down because she smokes and post about it on anandtech!

Have you not looked at the list of carcinogens lately? It's to the point that finding something that doesn't cause cancer is a chore.

No kidding.

I would date a girl that smokes as long as she keeps it less than a pack a day... less better, but anything more, I don't know. I had a bad experience with this Spanish girl in Germany. She was smoking like 1.5+ packs a day and it was a bit too much. Oh well, everyone on ATOT is model material that has no trouble getting laid, so its ok. I must be the only one.

Edit: Oh and I smoke cigars, and I love them. I like puffing it out to the face of wimps like you in bars. Its always fun.

Actually, for me at least, if I saw her lighting a joint, that'd be a bigger deal breaker than if she just smoked cigarettes (socially I would hope).

Drinking I think doesn't have the same visual drag smoking does because human being naturally consume liquids. Now while it may be a bad one for you it doesn't look horribly strange.

We may as well think it looks strange when someone drinks any other than water (bright colored powerade or what have you).

Anyways I personally have the same standard for drinking, I'd hope she was just a social drinker if she drank at all.

I would not date a girl who smokes, only because I'm an ex-smoker and it would probably get me started again.

here's some reality:

i think smoking is a nasty habit and a complete turnoff. however if i had the chance to jump in the sack with this chick the fact she smokes would not even be a thought in my mind. my wife cutting my sack off would, but not smoking.

Yeah, yeah, it's not like it's illegal. But what an image buster. I saw this very same woman --Tara Conner-- being interviewed shortly thereafter when I got to the office. They have one of the news channels on all the time, and the morning show was interviewing her. Same face, same clothes.

Pardon the pun, but what a drag!
Imagine how disappointed she must be that she just shot any chance she might of had with you:roll:

you ass, but HAHAHA. Anyways I'm not a big fan of girls that smoke cigarettes. Kind of a turn off for me :(

I don't like smoking and I wouldn't necessarily turn down a girl who smokes but she definitely gets point taken off in my book.

I wouldn't date a girl who smoked because I don't like the way it smells and, generally (yes, I AM generalizing) smokers wouldn't fit in with my lifestyle (upbeat and active). That being said, I have no problem having a fling with a smoker.

That shouldn't be a big deal

amazing how people have such a hard on for bashing other people they need to go back several months and dig up an old thread.

It's more amazing that you felt the need to edit out the content from that "old thread."

it has nothing to do with this thread. and its more amazing that grown adults have to result to such childish behavior and that it matter so much to you.
