While late-night jokes were of higher caliber during the Bush years, there's only so many times you can shoot the same fish in the same barrel.

And really, what would a 3rd Bush term have looked like anyway? More TARP, tax cuts to "reduce" the deficit and a war in Djibouti because of trouble in Yemen?

We are in Bush's 3rd term, where have you been?

Apart from reinstating stem cell research funding and making torture illegal (like it doesn't still happen) Obama has done nothing to improve on Bush's fuck-ups.

You're still in 2 wars.
You're still in debt up to your eyeballs.
You still keep prisoners indefinitely in illegal prisons.
Habeas corpus is still (effectively) suspended.
You still have the PATRIOT Act (didn't it just get extended?)

Bush was like a bad turd, he was gone as soon as we pulled the handle but the stench will be around for a while longer:)

Well, let's be clear, Bush wasn't the problem. He was a yes man for the problems. Let the neocons run foreign policy, let Wall Street dominate the economy, let corporations get away with about anything.

In that, he wasn't really that different than Reagan - the old corporate spokesman who was the paid national spokesman against Medicare and for GE before he ran for office.

Let the corporations say who to invade, what terrible regimes to back, let the earlier version of the 'neocons' break the law in Iran-Contra, let corporations do what they like, including Savings and Loans...

We can elect any number of 'yes men' who let the problems do what they want. That was Coolidge and Hoover's basic policy, too. Sarah Palin is worse than Bush, remarkably.

That's like asking if you miss having the flu...

But help me out here. What has Obama done that outweighs Cheney's many documented constitutional affronts? I just want to understand the mentions of the Constitution in this thread - so many right-leaning posters here didn't give two shits what the last admin did to the Constitution. Has Obama and his party voiced support for amending the document to restrict rights to citizens or something? Any warrantless wiretaps? Did he direct the FBI to keep tabs on the teabaggers? Anyone?
