Mismatch between MB and Case....

Hello all,

I have an Antec 1040 case. I am looking to buy an ECS KS75A MB.

The MB components (mouse/keyboard PS2, serial ports, parallel ports, USB, LAN and gaming ports) do not line up with the holes provided on the case.

MB
Case

Is there an easy solution for this? Is there like a plate that I can buy for the 1040, that matches the components on the MB?

Thanks.

[EDIT]The pictures show that the USB ports are to the right of the serial/parallel ports on the MB and to the left in the case.[/EDIT]

Contact ECS for the correct I/O panel. Then you should be able to pop the panel out of the case and put the new one in.

your motherboard should have come with a differnet i/o plate to replace the one in the case. If it didn't yea just contact the place you bought it from or ecs

u didn't look at the pictures very closely did u..........
well anyways........the pics of the MB, the 3rd pic shows u that it comes with the correct panel to replace the one on ur case which can easily be removed

I haven't actually bought the MB yet. My current one (ASUS A7V133) has just passed away 🙂. When doing my research for a replacement, I noticed the different structure.

So the MB should come with a replacement panel to account for the difference in layout? Cool.

Interesting. Could you please explain a little further?

I haven't yet decided on which MB to buy, but the ECS was recommended by a couple of people. Please see this thread for details.

Do you have another option for a MB that runs with:

AMD Thunderbird 1.3 GHz Chip
PC 133 SDRAM
USB 1.1
Agp 4X

Thanks.

😱

Correct. I only looked at the first two pictures.

MSI KT2 Combo L - Currently OOS at newegg. In Stock at GoogleGear. Excellent for under $60. shipped.
Uses either SDRAM or DDR (two slots for each). Has USB 2.0 (supports both). Max stable if your PSU has a P4 connector. See the user reviews on newegg for some useful tips and gotchas (very few). Does not come with backplate, but should work with one that came with your case. If not, you can get them lots of places perhaps even newegg.
