my parents would have killed me if I transfered to a local college and commuted.

after going away to college in August, I came home for the first time in October and found that my room had already been converted into an office for my mom. heh.

wow, if you moved home youd regret it, who cares about your parents they cant hold your hand for your whole life, this is the first step in your freedom/independance, stick it out and stop being a wuss

whatever you do don't transfer home, stick it out. if you're into sports just join in the pickup games. if your interests lie otherwhere then i can almost promise you that there is some sort of club on campus. trust me man, i had some friends that went back home after the first semester, it never allows you time to expand yourself past what you've always known

Agree x100

I lived in the same house forever and when I finally moved off to college in Toronto I hated it (coming from a briar hicksville upbringing). Give yourself time and eventually you will like it.

I had my own place when I move to Toronto and hated it because living alone was pretty crappy. For me it took a good 6 months to get used to. Now I'm in 3rd year and glad I stuck it out.

Just stick with it and eventually you will meet people that are like you and share similar interests.

Edit: oh and whatever you're thinking that is different for you--its not. Everyone feels the same sort of crap for the most part when they go off to college if they had a solid family life at home.

eh, i ended coming back home, but it was mostly because i hated the people at my school and not so much because i missed home. anyway, i went to community college and transfered back to a 4 year college of equal prestige a couple years later. no harm done, and lots of money saved.

give it a few more weeks, of course, but i don't think there's any major shame in changing schools.
