I have a difficult time understanding speech when there's any kind of sound or noise accompanying it. I just don't filter things out well. For example, if I'm trying to have a conversation while someone else is talking in the room, I start losing my own train of thought, and am unable to focus on the person in front of me. I wind up with a confusd meshing of words from everyone talking.

Music is nice to listen to, but I need to read and memorize the words to know what's being said.
