Question Mirroring a hard drive or SSD drive, a bit of help if I may ...

Have never mirrored a hard drive or such and started off years ago with an Intel 286 cpu ( hangs head in shame ) ^_^

Any suggestions on what software or such one might use ??

Not sure the purpose you intend here. It sounds like you intend a back up plan . By a mirror are you refering to a form of a RAID arrangement to back up files ? Are you content to have a file archive or are you intending a full system disk back up ?

Concur with deustroop. Mirroring is one of the simple definitions of RAID1. What is your objective?

Sorry was not clear 🙂

I wish to move my current windows 7 operating system to another hard drive

Also, on my other PCs, after a fresh install of windows 7 or 10, I wish a backup of each

Doing a fresh install is getting old when my Grandkids mess up my PCs

Also, I would like to move a windows 10 install from a hard drive to an SSD card if I can

Lastly, after a fresh install of others PCs, would be nice to have copies to install quickly

Macrium Reflect Free can do pretty-much all of those things. You're not really talking about "mirroring" per se, as that's a RAID configuration, but rather, "cloning" or "disk imaging". Similar in concept, except that when you clone a Windows OS drive, you DO NOT want both clones in the same system at once, at least not at initial boot of the clone drive.
