Mirror and photograph

I don't know is it just me or what. I have seen myself in many different mirrors and to me I look a certain way. Here is the part that I don't get. When someone takes pics of me, I look different. Not the way I see myself in the mirror; I look fatter and fuglier than what I see myself in the mirror. WTF?

Anyone experience this? This is one reason I avoid the camera. 🙂

When you look in the mirror, I think you attend to your appearance, standing up straighter, automatically looking for a good angle. The camera catches you as you are, giving you no chance to posture and pose.

Hotchic,
Good point. I thought I was in shape until I saw my photo today...haha
Guess I need to start doing 1000 jumping jack again.

This happens because your face is not symmetrical, each side is different. If you cover half your face at a time, you look like two different people.

The reason you look odd to yourself in pictures is that you arent seeing the face you usually see in the mirror, you are seeing the face the rest of the world sees, not a mirror image of what the rest of the world sees.

it's not. but he/she is supposed to look identical to your mirrored image.
