One of the best program on the iOS is Air Video. Absolutely great program for streaming and playing all types of videos from your computer/server to your Apple devices like the iPad, iPod, and the iPhone.

We finally have Air Video client for the Android. :) It's still in beta but it works well for SD videos. It's choppy for me on 720p videos on my Vibrant but hopefully that will be fixed. It's beta so it's free. Check it out. You'll need to install Air Video server software on your computer and have that running for it to work.

Holy crap. It works off an existing AirVideo server install to boot. This has been my biggest queef with Android -- the lack of something as good as AirVideo (VLC Direct and Stream&Convert didn't cut it, neither did Orb or PlayOn). With 4TB of softsub anime, AirVideo really took the cake.

If this can interface properly with softsub support on the AirVideo server end, my head is so going to explode in a shower of candy and donuts. I just have to wait 9 more hours till I can try it :(

Awesome. Making sure it worked with the existing server software is brilliant.

Hmmm... then it might not be an unsupported Nook problem as that's what it's doing for me.

Didn't get time to try it last night -- on weekends I only have about an hour to get stuff done before I have to get to bed. It did launch on an Evo, but I didn't get time to get any streams up (even the test streams, was in too much of a hurry).

My biggest concern is how it's going to interface with the server-side controls. I'm not sure how much extra stuff AirVideo has on top of the base protocol. I really need those softsubs :p

I tried this on my ASUS Transformer. I have AirVideo installed my my HP ex495 (WHS) and it works quite well. The only issue that I am having is that the audio seems to be out of sync. I have emailed the developer so hopefully there will be a fix.

yeah it's pretty much useless on anything other than SD videos at the moment. Hopefully that will be corrected soon.

hmm, seems extremely choppy on higher res (720p+) videos

This was my experience as well. The magic of AirVideo is that it's smart enough to know when to just stream and when to transcode. This app seems to just stream no matter what, and larger bit rate videos will just torture the hardware.

At this point somehow it doesn't even work at all anymore on any of my video files, even the ones that worked before. Not sure if it's one of the updates or what.

Either way, I have high hopes on this since it's pretty much the closest alternative to AirVideo that I've seen. Hopefully they can improve things in the future.

I tried the latest release on my 7" Galaxy Tab and my Galaxy Nexus and it's much improved. 720p stuff played fine and 1080p videos played fine with conversion. It's good enough now I'm going to use as my default streamer.
