Follow the directions and keep copies. A fool proof system.

What good is keeping copies of everything? Copies of everything sent?
Keep a copy incase they decline your rebate. Once a rebate is declined they will ask you to fax a copy of the information. If you have a copy of the rebate form filled out properly, the upc, and the receipt, they will honor the rebate.

Yup, do what miniendo said. All of our rebates have come in now and over all these years we must have filled out 100 to 150 rebates, each one came back except one. We went back to Staples and explained it saying either we want a refund or the rebate, they asked for copies, we gave, they honored rebate from their side.

I sent in a MIR from a cordless phone that I bought. I made sure I did everything to the letter and 2 months later it still got declined. I called them up and asked wtf is going on when I did everything right. "I'm sorry sir. Must have been a mistake. We will get right on it." Another 2 months goes by and finally get the check in the mail. This was the first time that I have had a problem with a MIR.

Well now, you don't really have a choice, now do you?

You wantcher money? Then gets to stuffin' envelopes, rebate boy! :D

Seriously, I don't see what the question is here. That's like saying "I'm hungry. Should I go buy food?" No, stay home and starve.

definitely make copies.

i have a folder for copies (rebate forms, UPC's, receipts, etc). i'll name each folder: <date mailed> - <product>

that way, i can get a quick glance at which rebates are still at large.

yea make copies of everything
I recently had an issue with a 50 mail in rebate, and i had to fax a copy.

I gotta fax another one since they said they never received the receipt which is BS.

i don't do MIR's

OK.... :cookie: It's a personal choice. I won't do one with an unknown company. I strongly hesitate to do one with any company that doesn't have online rebate status checking. Heck, I'm waiting on $120! from Sprint right now. Just checked the status...same as last week. "We got it. You'll get it. In 8-14 weeks." :p Hey, at least I know it's coming. Plus, I paid cash for the phone, so it's paid for already.

I only use MIR's on products that I would be buying anyway (I don't let a MIR offer affect my decision to purchase, or where to purchase.) If I see an item for say, $50 at CC or $60 at BestBuy with a $20 MIR (let's assume no price-matching,) I'd pass on the rebate and stick with the lower retail.
