MIR is down!!

They bought an insurance policy in case it does, alot like those "hole in one" contests to win a car.

<< Let's place bets on how long it takes pieces of MIR to show up on egay. HEHE >>

😀

[edit]After 15 years in space, Russia's space station Mir re-entered the Earth's atmosphere and plunged into the South Pacific early Friday. CNN's Hugh Williams in Fiji reported seeing Mir streaking across the sky in several pieces. "This is the most unbelievable, incredible show," Williams said. whoa... 15 years! Now I can see the listing on egay...
"Vintage Space Station Fragment"

This is a sad day. All the resources and effort into that station. All the truimphs. One of mans greatest achievements. An object of many peoples dreams. Now dead.

Gotta hand it to the Russians. They know how to take out the trash.

Mir was like Biosphere: public relations was more important than success.

the dude that's hosting the MIR thing on CNN said that they should have some video within the next couple of hours

wtf?? How long does it take to get to an uplink and upload the footage?

These type of things are usually dissappointing. Now if they would have used it as target practice for a Patriot missile or something, it might have been cool.....😎
