Minor problem with Win98

I used Windows 95 (OSR2) and Windows NT 4 on my old computer for years. When using Explorer in both OS's, double clicking a folder (in the left window pane) would open the list of folders it contained beneath it. I've now got both Windows 98se and Windows 2000 on my new computer. Win2k works the same was as before, but Windows 98 does not open the folder list unless I double click the folder an extra time.

Anyone know if this is something that can be changed?
