minor problem with SB Live card

I'm having a minor problem with my sound card (SB LIVE MP3) which I have not seen addressed. My PC boots every time and is stable. The sound seems to work fine, too, except when I play games. In the games, the sound effects sound great, but the music does not play. Music option in all games is on, and volume is all the way up. Examples of games are Driver and Test Drive 5...different makers so I don't think it is an issue with the games. Games with midi music don't have this problem. Driver, on the other hand, has CD-Audio or WAV file music, because I can play the songs on my stereo. Any ideas??? thanks in advance

I don't exactly know for sure but you may have to have the cdrom sound cable plugged into the sound card and to the cdrom. Do you have it plugged in? If not try plugging it in.

If you are talking about the 4-pin round cable (or the 2 pin digital audio cable) then yes, I am pretty sure they are plugged in where they should be. I can play audio CDs in both my Plextor burner and Pioneer DVD-ROM drive.

but I'll open the case and make sure the connections are tight.

thanks
