Minor Annoyance in XP

I use the hibernate mode when I'm turning off my PC instead of Shut Down. With Win2k, once windows was completed resuming itself, I could use the Internet. In XP, I have to wait about 30 seconds before it allows me to use the net. Anybody found a solution to this or experienced it themselves?
