Minolta PageWorks/Pro 1100L Laser Printer Problem

My uncle has a Minolta PageWorks/Pro 1100L laser printer, and he cannot print anything. Besides not printing, there were two lights (both the green power and the red problem indicator lights) blinking simultaneously.

I installed the drivers & software on another computer and checked if there were any error messages from the utility software provided. It said "FATAL ERROR - Fuser Fan Abnormal" and told me to turn the printer off and turn on again. So I did so. But the same lights blinked again and the same error message was displayed.

So, here are my two questions:
1. What's a "fuser fan" in general(I tried Google, but did not get a clear answer... might try again later)?
2. Is this something I can fix, or would it be better for my uncle to get a new laser printer?

Even if my uncle were to get a new laser printer, I would like to try fixing it so that it can be used again, if possible.

Thanks in advance!

The Fuser in a laser printer 'fixes' the ink to the paper. Its very hot. The fan would be to cool it down I would think.

Usually, you can get to the fuser if you have the manual. I would also have thought it is poss to get to the fans as well - but don't quote me on that
